How the foil size calculator works
Front wing area is the single most important number when choosing a hydrofoil. Heavier riders and beginners need more area for early lift and stability, while lighter and more experienced riders benefit from smaller wings with less drag, more speed and tighter turns. Our calculator combines your weight, discipline and skill level into a proven starting range used by the AXIS team and dealers worldwide.
Mast length follows a similar logic: shorter masts are more forgiving and better for shallow water while learning, longer masts give more room for carving, chop and swell. Board volume matters most for wing foiling and SUP disciplines – more litres mean easier starts, fewer litres mean less swing weight in the air.
Every AXIS front wing, rear wing, mast and fuselage in our store uses the same modular mounting system, so your setup can grow with you – start forgiving, then swap components as your skills progress. If you are between sizes or between two wing lines, send us a message – as the official AXIS Foils distributor for the Baltics we will match your exact conditions and goals to the right gear.
